Bed and breakfast Asko is located in the gorgeous Salento countryside, and just a few miles away from Lecce and its astonishing Barocco churches (like Santa Croce, the Cathedral, Sant'Irene...) and buildings (like Palazzo dei Celestini or Palazzo Adorno) and from the gold sunny beaches of the Ionian coast, like Porto Cesareo, Porto Selvaggio (located in a natural protected park) and Gallipoli.
Our bed and breakfast is also very close to the village of Melpignano, where every summer the famous 'Notte della Taranta' takes place. it is one of the most famous festivals of popular music, and nearly one hundred thousand people from all over the world come to attend the 'Concertone', the big final concert, at the end of August.
And, thanks to very fast motorways, in a few minutes also other Salento pearls, like Otranto (the eastern town in Italy, with its Aragonese Castle), Santa Maria di Leuca (where Ionian and Adriatic sea collide), Galatina (with wonderful, fresqued Santa Caterina d'Alessandria church).
We offer five comfortable rooms, in a park among pine- and olive-trees and the orchard.
All our rooms are furnished and decorated in African style, as our bed and breakfast is strictly connected to volunteer activities in Ethiopia.
Our tasty breakfast is based exclusively on local products (like fruits, jams...) or coming from the world fair-trade.
We welcome pets and we are gay-friendly oriented.
It's the ideal place for a relaxing and solidal holiday!
